Description
Aluminium Thermal Unit Ø 63 A completely new thermal unit has been created and designed in every part to obtain the maximum result in terms of performance and durability. Every aspect of the system has been studied to maximise mechanical resistance, fluid dynamics and improve combustion: the result is a top of the range kit in terms of construction quality and technological advancement. Technical characteristics: Cylinder Made entirely from scratch, in high-strength aluminium alloy and nickel-chrome coated barrel. Consisting of a central core with a constant thickness around the barrel and transfers, it guarantees constant heat exchange, thus a controlled gas inlet temperature in the chamber and optimum heat exchange at the exhaust. It has a cooling fin profiled aerodynamically around the core designed to be penetrated with the best possible efficiency by the cooling air. The biggest innovation is the completely revised and updated decanting system, introducing the CVF according to the latest updates gained from racing experience. The transfers have now been increased to 7, a distinctive feature of the Malossi kits, thanks to which it has been possible to achieve the best fluid-dynamic performance. The connection to the muffler is made by a flange-connector assembly fixed to the cylinder by means of 4 cap screws and an O-ring sealing the exhaust duct inserted to prevent any leakage from the thermal unit. With this extremely simple assembly system it is possible to accommodate all types of muffler on the market with a Ø 37 inlet with maximum resistance, avoiding any problem of unscrewing or rotation due to vehicle vibrations. The connection with the head is now made by means of high-precision centring on the support planes obtained with numerically controlled machines. A set of multi-thickness base gaskets is supplied to allow the user to adjust the compression to suit a variety of uses. Piston cast with an innovative material, consisting of a steel core coated with an alloy of aluminium and silicon, which gives it extreme lightness as well as excellent resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures and reflection of the heat derived from combustion, the heat flow is therefore directed towards the dissipation surfaces, favouring the cooling of the combustion chamber and maintaining it within the optimum temperature range. The inner part of the shell has ribs immersed in the casting, which have been used to strengthen the most mechanically stressed areas while allowing maximum piston lightening. The windows at the rear and the diametrical recesses, on the other hand, ensure the maximum possible flow of fresh charge to the cylinder ports. Head Another revolution in the construction philosophy of 2-stroke engines: the cooling fins have been dimensioned to optimise the heat flow from the chamber to the outside, but are now also profiled according to modern simulations to allow the maximum possible penetration of air from the cooling system, which now laps the head with an increase in efficiency of more than 10% compared to a conventional straight fin system. The characteristic hemispherical profile combustion chamber is machined to tenth of a millimetre tolerances and develops a highly turbulent combustion, with pressure peaks calculated at the most suitable engine speeds to obtain maximum performance in terms of torque and power. The extremely high temperatures reached in this particular border zone between the head and cylinder, which often cause hot spots and detonations, are regulated thanks to an aerospace-style solution: a vacuum chamber duct made with two bulkheads and a series of inlet and outlet baffles. These convey, thanks also to a precise surface profile, part of the cooling air forcing it not only to lap the surfaces but also to expand, decreasing, thanks to a precise physical principle, the pressure and thus the temperature of the walls bordering the combustion chamber. Caution: It is absolutely essential to use fuel taps with an increased flow rate.Attachments
