SIP PERFORMANCE ignition by VAPE, Sport, for Vespa PK50-125/S/XL/XL2/ETS, flywheel: 1390g, CNC aluminium, cone 20/20mm, 9 coils, 12 magnets, 12V, DC, M12 mm, 110 watts, variable ignition pre-adjustment SIP has secured the assistance of a leading European manufacturer, VAPE, for the production of these high-end ignition systems for our beloved Vespas. The materials, production and construction of SIP PERFORMANCE ignition systems are of the highest quality. The laser-cut logo is a good indication of the overall clean and efficient production of the components in this kit. The electrical functions are representative of state-of-the-art modern technology. Due to the eight coils included on the stator plate, sufficient power is generated at acceleration revs to fully illuminate the Vespa's lighting. We offer both AC and DC versions and recommend the DC type if you wish to power digital components such as the SIP speedometer or if you require a high battery charging current. The CDI module is available as a "Road" version with a static ignition point, similar to the original part, or a "Sport" version that includes a variable ignition point that advances at low revs. This increases the available torque, especially in the lower range, and the ignition point is gradually delayed as the revs increase in the power band. This also helps to reduce the combustion temperature while providing an increased rev range. The pick-up on the stator plate is split into two and arranged one above the other instead of side by side as with the original design. This eliminates the possibility of misalignment during initial setup due to the manufacturing tolerances inherent in many Vespa engine casings, crankshafts, stator plates and flywheels. The exact ignition point is clearly marked by a precise line on both the flywheel and the stator plate, allowing for exact positioning during assembly and making a strobe light unnecessary. One of the main advances achieved is the production of the fly/fanwheel unit as a single component, avoiding a riveted internal mounting cone and uneven rotation. The fan is CNC machined from solid aluminium and provides the same volume of cooling air to the cylinder as the original PIAGGIO PX 125 and PK parts, across the entire rev range. The flywheel for small frame Vespas weighs 1300 g and for large frames 1600 g, making both significantly lighter than their original counterparts. This mainly improves throttle response, but leaves the engine easy to handle in city traffic and when carrying a passenger. Our SIP-VAPE flywheels are 100% compatible with the original flywheel removal device. Technical specifications: - A relatively high power of 110 W is available from tick-over for significantly improved lighting. - Can also power additional electrical components such as fuel pump, lambda sensor heater, USB power port, etc. - Precisely balanced flywheel thanks to its monoblock construction. - Plug & Play installation without strobe light thanks to precise ignition point markings. - Perfectly balanced rotational mass, improved throttle response. - Ideal cooling performance, identical to the original straight fin type. - Twelve-fin fan with CNC machining. - Variable ignition point linked to RPM (SIP PERFORMANCE "Sport" version). - Complete delivery includes: CDI, flywheel/fan wheel, rectifier (DC), regulator (AC). - Single notch for woodruff key on flywheel shaft mounting, preventing incorrect settings.Feedback
