Description

Carter MALOSSI Vespa PX200 Elestart VR-One reed valve The VR-One is for power purists, for those who want to push their Vespa to the limit, but not only. It has the same mounting characteristics in the V-One body and the same cylinder housing options thanks to the revised fluid dynamics of the crank chamber, the drilling of the studs and the same accessories supplied with the V-One (except for the mixer pin). This crankcase has been designed to withstand higher power and is therefore supplied with ball bearings on the flywheel side (Ø25xØ52x15) and on the transmission side (Ø25xØ62x12), which eliminate the needle bearings and allow for greater radial load capacity and additional resistance to axial loads, which is not provided with the original roller bearings. Dedicated oil seals are also supplied. The greater resistance to stress due to the crank mechanism makes the crankcase perfect for mounting with our single-ring MHR cylinders, item 3116349 (stroke 57), but especially with kit 3116351 (stroke 60). The natural combination for this configuration is with the Malossi solid shoulder 60 stroke crankshaft, item 5316176, supplied with the correct balance and perfect for the reed valve feed system provided for the new VR-One. Reed valve fuel supply This is where the biggest innovation and the sporty orientation of the crankcase lie, now powered by a system SUPPLIED COMPLETELY with the reed valve assembly which, thanks also to the new high-quality carbon fibre reeds, guarantees an increase in power at all operating speeds and at the same time allows the highest speeds to be reached. The assembly consists of a die-cast valve seat, coupled to the crankcase with a seal guaranteed by a special gasket, and a completely new reed valve equipped with a multiple profile diffuser, specially designed using fluid dynamics simulation programmes and featuring a special side wall configuration that eliminates some of the turbulence normally created when the air-petrol mixture passes through the diffusers, while at the same time directing the charge in the correct direction once the reeds are open. The fuel manifold, designed according to the X360 technology used in our competitions, consists of a die-cast flange connected to a Viton pipe joint by means of a profiled lip, which guarantees a perfect seal and at the same time allows the connector to be turned in the direction desired by the user so that the system can be perfectly aligned with the vehicle's configuration. The sleeve has an inlet diameter of 30 mm. The ideal combination is the Dell'Orto PHBH 30 carburettor (not supplied). Malossi has decided to break with the past to create an iconic component for an equally iconic vehicle, the Vespa PX E 200! Drawing on all the technology and knowledge acquired on roads and tracks around the world, Malossi has developed the new V-One and VR-One casings. The design, study, research and production of these casings are Malossi's way of paying tribute to enthusiasts of these vehicles. The two models allow tuners, restorers and, more generally, all Vespa PX E 200 owners to indulge themselves and choose the modification path that best suits their needs: Amateurs, restorers, travellers and simple Sunday tourists looking for a component that is perfectly replaceable with the original, does not require any modifications to the vehicle and offers the widest possible choice of components, from the original to the main items available on the market, will be able to purchase the V-One SPORT casing. Tuners looking for maximum performance, the best internal fluid dynamics and the greatest possibility of engine development can purchase the VR-One MHR crankcase. Technical characteristics ENTIRELY MADE IN ITALY Malossi's technical and technological advancement is the greatest strength of our products, which is why we are convinced that we have created one of the best crankcases ever produced. Strengths Every square millimetre of the crankcase reveals an innovative drive that is evident even to the most inexperienced tuners. The gravity shell casting, which distinguishes these crankcases from the original models obtained through a die-casting process, combined with the use of modern shell moulding cores, allows for better internal shapes to be achieved with maximum precision. Gravity casting has allowed us to strategically increase the sections in the areas subject to the greatest stress and to subject the casings to a heat treatment after casting, thus achieving very high mechanical strength. These products are made from a high-quality Al Si 7 Mg (EN AB and AC 42000) light aluminium alloy containing the right amounts of silicon to increase mechanical strength, manganese for improved resilience and corrosion resistance, and copper and magnesium to improve workability. The casings are machined entirely in our workshop using CAD/CAM processes and high-precision CNC machining centres. All contact and sealing surfaces are machined with diamond tools to ensure extremely low surface roughness values and virtually perfect couplings. Advantages Both casings share a number of basic features, such as the front arm reinforced with stress relief ribs and sections with a profile calculated to allow the correct flow and channelling of stresses and ensure better resistance. Both models feature brake shoe pins, which are installed directly in-house using presses capable of applying the forces required to achieve the couplings specified by our designers. In addition to the brake shoes, the casings are supplied with the M7 stud bolts required for mounting the gear selector. Finally, no version excludes the original electric starter, whose actuator can be mounted in the special recess in the volute. Fluid dynamics have finally been implemented! Equipping our standard models with transfer bags that are suitably profiled and sized to fit perfectly with our Ø 68.5 cylinders, without excluding the possibility of mounting other thermal units and, in fact, offering increased performance even with the latter, frees tuners from having to machine the casings to mount higher performance cylinders. The M8 stud bolts for mounting the cylinders are also included in the package! Thanks to the measures listed above, achieving higher power is no longer a problem. Even the usual problem of oil leaking from the crankcase has been solved thanks to: Thicker pump crankcase walls, which also contribute to the mechanical strength of the crankcase Use of M8 stud bolts to replace the original M7 bolts High-precision machining of the sealing surfaces. We have eliminated the crankcase gasket, which deteriorated and was the main cause of oil leaks. Now the crankcases are perfectly coupled and sealed with gasket paste, which is resistant even to the highest operating temperatures! We didn't want to stop there! After years of assembling and disassembling original casings, working on them and trying out thousands of solutions to offer constantly updated components, we came face to face with inefficiencies and inconveniences, which we analysed in order to propose our own solutions. This is the case with the casing clamping system, which in the original components is made with the classic screw-nut system, which is notoriously inconvenient and difficult for the user. Such a valuable vehicle deserves the best possible maintenance, and this means that the various components need to be assembled and disassembled to replace them or even just to check that they are working properly, overhauling them when necessary. Anyone who has worked on the original casings without disconnecting the block from the vehicle has certainly encountered the difficulty of handling the components of the block due to the awkward and hard-to-reach position of the nuts, which, once unscrewed, are likely to fall to the ground and get lost. Our solution is as simple as it is sophisticated: eliminate the nuts! By creating threads in the left casing (or transmission casing) and seats on the right side (or ignition casing), we have eliminated the need for nuts to tighten the two components. To prevent the screw from accidental impact or damage during operation, which could ruin the thread, where possible we have made the seats on the right side so that the screws are completely recessed, thus protecting them from any danger.
