The new cross member dedicated to classic "small frame" Vespas is a small mechanical masterpiece that incorporates the latest technology to guarantee a part with extremely high mechanical characteristics, capable of withstanding stresses well above those often encountered by the original component and maintaining these characteristics over time. The use of high-purity steel, combined with a special thermochemical treatment, results in extremely high surface hardness and mechanical strength. These two characteristics make the cross member extremely resistant to both contact wear and the mechanical stresses to which it is subjected, especially in high-performance engines. Design using the most sophisticated CAD CAM systems has made it possible to review and optimise the profiles of the engagement cams in order to achieve greater fluidity, precision and safety of use of the gear lever. The stability and dimensional accuracy of the part are guaranteed within limits that would otherwise be unattainable thanks to the use of a double-spindle CNC machining centre and strict quality control to which every single part is subjected in order to guarantee the quality and performance expected of a Malossi part.
