Malossi HTQ gears for Vespa PX carry on the legacy of the first gear design produced by Malossi in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Completely redesigned, this pair of primary gears uses a straight tooth configuration instead of the standard helical teeth. Malossi has worked hard to ensure the exceptional quietness of the gears, achieved through special machining of the teeth and contact surfaces, finished with meticulous care and checked with an evolvent meter. Malossi HTQ gears are made exclusively from materials that exceed the extremely strict standards imposed by our engineers through rigorous testing and inspection. The final machining is carried out using numerically controlled machines, after which Malossi HTQ gears undergo a complete thermochemical cementation treatment at 900°C, which gives them the required hardness and resistance. The size and quality of the finished gears are finally checked on Zeiss three-dimensional control machines.
