We now have our SIP tubeless rims available for Vespa models with 8" oldie wheels, manufactured to our usual high standards. The one-piece SIP aluminium wheel has an outer diameter of 10", similar to the original pressed steel wheels fitted to Vespa 150 GS VS1-4 / VD1T / VD2T / VGL1T models. This allows the most popular range of 10" tyres to be used on these vintage Vespa models. The one-piece design of our SIP aluminium wheels offers a significantly improved ride thanks to the precise manufacturing methods involved in their production. The suspension also becomes more stable thanks to the larger 10" outer diameter. Fitting a 10" tyre to these models with 8" wheels also increases the overall gear ratio of the engine, matching other Vespa models originally fitted with 3.50-10" wheels. The increased circumference of the 10" tyres increases the overall ratio by approximately 10% compared to the 8" tyre type. This allows for lower engine revs combined with a higher top speed, ideal for moderately tuned engines, but also beneficial for scooters with original engines that have sufficient power to master acceleration on hills and slopes. The modern double-hump wheel design helps prevent sudden loss of pressure while riding in the event of tyre damage. The air escapes slowly enough to allow the rider to safely stop their Vespa. Dangerous high-speed explosions are, thankfully, a thing of the past! Other potentially dangerous events, such as a valve tearing the open inner tube or becoming trapped between the two wheels during assembly, are no longer possible. The valve is pre-mounted on the wheel itself. The surface finish is perfected by an extensive CNC machining process. They are available painted in various colours, a high-gloss version and a type painted with glossy sides. Made for use with M8 nuts (code 87430000) or M10 nuts (code 87193000). If necessary, order the nuts according to the axle of the scooter. Conclusion: an innovative wheel design with a classic look.
